IS MAFIA 2 MULTIPLAYER MOD

I wouldn't want Mafia 4 to take place in San Francisco with an asian immigrant or Brazil in the favelas, those are fantastic ideas for new franchises - I WISH someone would do Sleeping Dogs 2 some love - but I would love a Mafia 4 that took place both between somewhere in the USA and Italy in the 60s, 70s, or 80s.Д«ecause it dragged the entire game down.

I look forward to Mafia 4, I hope they return more to the Italian roots though, I really enjoyed that aspect of Mafia 1 & 2 and while the 60s Louisiana and racism angle of Mafia 3 was really interesting and brought something different to the franchise, it didn't really feel like a mobster game, more like a game where you took out all your enemies alone and kinda built your own mob but not really. I really enjoyed the DLCs as well, pretty fun stuff with a short main story and then a fetch style post story you could grind on.

I plat'd Mafia 3 and played through all the DLCs to 100% and enjoyed it but yeah, the game lacked that extra six months of polish that would have removed a lot of the tedious middle bits, put some fast travel points especially to the swamp areas (there was a PC mod I believe for that), and maybe tightened up some of the story bits. Now of course the rednecks and racists in Mafia 3 obviously aren't very smart people. It started to be comical when you pile up 10 heavily armed and supposedly trained guys with just the power of knuckles. Mankind Divided had same kind of problems with it's knocking. Maybe have them notice bloodsplatter on the ground or to be extra cautious because their friend is missing. At somepoint they should realize that something ain't right. Just whistle on a corner and take people out, one after another. Now I absolutely admit that the AI makes the sneaky approach not that good. It even gives you some freedom to go guns blazing or to be more sneaky. The opening, the theme park, the cruiser, I remember those all fondly. But even then many of the main set piece missions are quite memorable. Too much mandatory busy work instead of having it be optional. Now the mission structure, that's where the problems arise imo. We shouldn't expect these games to be Bayonetta and Assetto Corsa put together. Combat and traversal are essential to this kind of game and I feel the game did those well (beats any GTA for me).

But the gunplay is great and responsive, driving feels good and is really fun with the beautiful old cars. It was repetitive as hell, but was it terrible really? Especially if we just take a look at these big open world games that try to tackle so many things at the same time, some aspects don't always get enough attention and polish. These were great and I think they should at least be an 'option' that you can turn on/off (so people who want to just play like GTA can and those that prefer the more realistic/sim type of experience can play that way). I'd love to see them go back to this focus, more story, more variety in the missions and what you do throughout the game, less padded repetitive busywork.ДЄlso plz, give us back the realistic sim elements such as traffic laws (IE speeding/running red lights = police pull you over) and things like fuel for vehicles. What set Mafia I and II apart from the likes of GTA and other games was that they didn't focus on building up a ton of useless side-content and 'Busy-work' instead they just focused on telling a compelling story with some good characters and used the world as a backdrop to make the game as a whole feel more alive and immersive.

It turned off a lot of people when it went into it's open world 'loop' of having to take over an area to get to the next story mission doing the same repetitive things over and over and over. Mafia 3 was GREAT when it was focused on the story and moving it forward. If it is indeed Mafia 4 they need to learn from the strengths of the previous game.
